Hand surgery includes various structures:

SOFT TISSUE AND BONE RECONSTRUCTION FOR TRAUMA.TUMOUR AND INFECTION

The upper limb and ultimately the hand are very important for our daily everyday function. Any compromise in terms of the function and the structure has far reaching consequences. Reconstruction in the hand is important facet of functional rehabilitation following defects or deformities from any of numerous causes. Good soft tissue is most important for the mobility of the hand and therefore appropriate replacement by flaps or skin graft as indicated is vital. The bony and the cartilaginous framework are integral to the structural function of the hand therefore replacement of hard tissues is also important to maintain the use of the hand. Sometimes the only solution maybe the amputation of an appendage of the hand. A non functioning digit can be a nuisance to the rest of the function of the hand.
